You get 4 fairies which arrive in a sturdy, colorful box and well-cushioned in styrofoam. I'd already planted my container gardens with tiny succulent plants so it was an easy matter to complete the setting by placing the fairies there. They are cute and can easily be moved around to give variety to your planters. They add a nice splash of color to each miniature landscape. I think they will hold up reasonably to the weather, but if you live in an area with a harsh winter, I'd suggest storing them away for that time and bringing them back out in the spring. The painting is a little slapdash, but I have some paint pens that I use for rock painting. I'll touch up the areas that aren't as carefully done as I'd like. They don't have a spike on the bottom to stabilize them in the soil, so you might have to place them against a rock or a plant so they won't fall over. The unevenness of the soil might make them tippy.
